Sato is looking for a solution when using smart devices (smart phone, iPad) and a TV remote controller.
1. When controlling a smartphone with his right thumb, his left finger covers the screen. Ideas on how to fix the smartphone when using it.
2. Ideas on where to put devices: how to put smart devices and remote controls in a position where he can take them out by himself and they do not disturb him when using other devices.
Yuji Sato, a office worker, was diagnosed with ALS three and a half years ago. He enjoys spending his spare time reading newspapers on his smart devices and watching TV, but it stressed out because it’s getting harder and harder to operate the devices and remote controls.
Due to muscle atrophy, he can only raise his arms a little and his fingers are stiff and trembling, so he holds his phone, fixed to his left palm with a rubber band, on his thigh and manage to control it with his right thumb.
