Magnet Blanket

Magnet Blanket - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Barcelona community

The challenge

People with limited mobility in one hand often find it difficult to do everyday tasks that require both hands, such as making the bed. This project provides a simple solution that allows them to complete these tasks more easily and independently.

Who it helps

People with disabilities affecting one of their hands who want to make their bed independently.

How it works

This solution uses a magnetic system to keep the blanket in place while making the bed. By securing the blanket to the bed, it prevents slipping and reduces the need for adjustments, making the task easier for people with limited hand mobility.

We are offering a magnetic system to keep the blanket in place while making the bed. It uses 3D-printed pieces with magnets—one attached to the blanket and another fixed to the bed—that connect to hold the blanket securely while still allowing easy removal

Tools needed

FDM Printer
