OGEN

OGEN - open-source assistive technology concept by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

Existing assistive devices are expensive and rely on complex electronics. There is a need for a passive mechanical solution that provides immediate stability without the need for charging or technical setup.

Who it helps

People living with neurological conditions that cause upper limb tremors. This includes elderly individuals and anyone facing challenges in steadying their hands for daily activities like eating, writing, or drawing.

How it works

The solution focuses on mechanical energy absorption. By integrating damping elements into a multi axis frame, the device neutralizes rapid shakes while remaining transparent to slow, intentional movements.

passive mechanical interface designed to stabilize hand tremors. It utilizes fluid based damping technology to filter out involuntary oscillations, providing a smooth and controlled experience for daily tasks without the need for electronics or batteries.
