Paper Holder

Paper Holder - open-source assistive technology prototype by the New York University community

The challenge

To be able to hold paper for cutting with the non-dominant or less dextrous hand, while using mainstream scissors with the dominant hand.

Who it helps

This device is made for people who have reduced dexterity or fine motor skills in one hand.

How it works

The frame holds the paper up by the edges so that it will not flop over, with an ergonomic handle to hold it up in the air.

This device allows the user to be able to hold up a piece of paper in order to cut it with their non-dominant or less dextrous hand, without it flopping over, while using mainstream scissors to cut the paper with the other dominant hand.

Tools needed

Prusa slicer

Hot glue gun

FDM Printer
