The current design is a pressure sensing pad which is placed inside the wheelchair cushion. This pad can detect high pressures and communicates through blue-tooth to a phone.
Her challenge is to get notifications on her phone when she has to move due to long equal pressure and/or high pressure points while seated in her wheelchair, so she knows when to move and thus can prevent pressure sores.
Kiran lives a very active and productive life, despite being paraplegic. As an entrepreneur she leads a busy life. 2017 TOM:Calgary was her first experience with TOM.
The build files for Pressure Sensing Pad for Paraplegics are free to download from this page - open source, shared by TOM: Tikkun Olam Makers.
