About this project

A DIY switch-adaptive plush toy is simple, quick, and inexpensive to make. It is designed to allow children with disabilities to play with a toy just by pressing a button.

The challenge

Market prices of switch-adaptive toys can be 3-5x that of non-adaptive versions. Given children’s quickly changing interests and these high costs, children with disabilities tend not to have adequate access to play.

Who it helps

Children with physical disabilities that are not able to independently play with toys as they come off-the-shelf may benefit from switch-adaptive toys.
