The team developed a device that contains a camera that films and processes the images live in order to detect movements, and then warns the user when something is coming through an app with a voice alerts so that the user knows when to cross the street.
The area where she lives, Villa Libertad, a province of Buenos Aires, has few streetlights and that makes it even harder for her to cross the street on her own. “I want to feel confident and independent,” Daniela expressed.
Daniela Onorato is a businesswoman who studied Communication Sciences at UBA. She’s been suffering from Bilateral Macular Lesions for the last 15 years. The illness affects her sight and doesn't allow her to cross the street on her own.
