Santiago

Santiago, Chile

The TOM Community was officially established in early 2018 while preparing for its very first TOM Makeathon which took place in the Universidad de Santiago de Chile, where more than 40 makers worked for 3 days to create 6 prototypes to five Need Knowers. The Community was founded by a partnership signed between the local Jewish Community, the Embassy of the State of Israel and the Universidad de Santiago to help and deliver prototypes to children of the Teleton Institute, the major rehabilitation centre in Chile, which organises a 27-hour non-stop TV show to raise funds for the Institute. More than 40 makers participated in this event and succeeded with all prototypes. The Community is now working on its second Makeathon due to take place in March 2020. The community manager is Andrés Aguilera Guzmán.
