University of Maryland's TOM community was founded in 2020 by a group of motivated students looking to mitigate the effects of COVID-19 on at-risk, underserved communities by 3D printing and distributing personal protective equipment (PPE). This year, the goal is to expand the team, establish a makerspace on campus, and work towards hosting our first event! The TOM community at UMD is greatly impacted by the diverse student body, the university's engineering resources and department, and a collective drive to help others.
