This project is designed for people with reduced mobility or assistive devices who want to stay active and independent — even in the rain.
Guillaume loves the outdoors, rain or shine. But let’s face it — no one wants to choose between staying home or looking like a soggy scarecrow.
🎯 The challenge: Design rain gear that’s practical, stylish, and makes people actually want to step outside.
Its design is inspired by the convertible car : a frame of hoops supports a waterproof fabric which is attached directly to the back of the wheelchair. Deployment is powered by a motor, activated by a simple push of a button on the front of the wheelchair.
The project's strength lies in its simple robust design. The use of low-cost materials ensures that it is accessible to the widest possible audience. And, its modular architecture will enable rapid maintenance operations.
