Accessible Tablet

Accessible Tablet - open-source assistive technology concept by the Barcelona community

The challenge

Marta has spasticity, a disease that limits her wrist, hand and finger mobility. This is why she wanted a tablet with more accessible buttons.

Who it helps

Marta likes to use a tablet, but she is not able to press the buttons to start the tablet. She would like a solution for an indenpendent use of her tablet.

How it works

If the buttens are bigger it is esier to press them and it will be esier for Marta and any other person with disabilities to use the tablet.

We made an accessible button system so that people with low wrist and finger mobility could control the on, off and volume. It consisted of medium sized levers that functioned as buttons. This was printed together with the top part of the tablet case.
