Accessible Dishwasher Handle

Accessible Dishwasher Handle - open-source assistive technology product by the Shenkar College community

About this project

A 3D-printed dishwasher handle that attaches directly to the dishwasher without the need for screws or glue. Works best with European/Middle Eastern dishwasher models but can also be used with some American styles.

The challenge

Many modern dishwashers have handles that are not accessible for people with hand disabilities, making them difficult to open and limiting user independence.

Who it helps

For everyone! But this product was originally created for people who have trouble opening a dishwasher because of the minimalist integrated handle design.

How it works
