The AeroTip is a 3D-printed finger thimble that slips over the finger knuckle. It enables precise, reliable button pressing in a flight simulator by adding tactile feedback (friction ribs on an area with remaining sensation) and a tip sized to match the button.
It’s needed because a hand injury can remove sensation at the fingertip, making it hard to feel contact and press small simulator buttons accurately. The thimble restores feedback through friction ribs on an area with remaining sensation.
Potential users are people with a hand injury that reduces fingertip sensation or control, such as nerve damage or post-trauma impairment, who need more accurate button presses in a flight simulator or other button-based control panels.
It solves the challenge by moving feedback from the numb fingertip to an area with sensation: friction ribs create a clear tactile cue during pressing. A button-sized tip guides placement and focuses force for accurate, reliable clicks.
We are offering a 3D-printed finger thimble (in two sizes) that enables precise, reliable presses in a flight simulator by adding tactile feedback (friction ribs on an area with remaining sensation) and a tip sized to match the button.
