Aya's First Steps - A forearm rest that connects to standard reverse walker

Aya's First Steps - A forearm rest that connects to standard reverse walker - open-source assistive technology prototype by the HIT - FIXPERTS community

About this project

The solution can help anyone who use (or want to use) a reverse walker, in order for him/her to be able to walk independently, and cannot hold a standard reverse walker. In this case, adapted to a user with Apert syndrome.

The challenge

To help Apertsyndrome child to walk and to gain independence.

Who it helps

The solution can help anyone who use (or want to use) a reverse walker, in order for him/her to be able to walk independently, and cannot hold a standard reverse walker. In this case, adapted to a user with Apert syndrome.

How it works

The solution will allow Aya (user) to use and practice walking with a standard reverse walker, independently. Without the solution, Aya cannot walk on her own.

To help Aya walk by herself for the first time in her life! To turn a standard reverse walker into a forearm walker, adapted to Aya's (user) needs. We want to create a forearm walker attachment (forearm rest) that connects to a standard reverse walker.
