Project Story

The Child Car Seat Aid is a 3D printed tool with an extrusion that can be used to open child car seat buckles with a light push force.

Who it helps

This tool is designed for people who have difficulty with fine motor skills (i.e. pinching, gripping, squeezing) or with hand coordination.

How it works

Who

Why

People who have challenges with fine motor skills and/or hand-eye coordination can struggle to open child car seat belt buckles because it requires a very targeted exhortation of force.

What

How

This solution enables users to push the release button on the buckle with a light force. Rather than needing to push on the buckle with their fingertips, users can simply enclose the buckle in the product and use a slight force to open the seat belt.
