FACE X

FACE X - open-source assistive technology concept by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

He cannot interpret complex facial expressions or emotions like disgust and fear, limiting him in his daily interactions. This includes socialization outside of school and basic living interactions like buying a drink at a store.

Who it helps

Darshan is a 12-year-old child with moderate-severe autism who faces challenges in his daily life. He attends a special needs school in the Bay Area.

How it works

This solution addresses a challenge faces by many students with mental disabilities. After using our product, they will have more meaningful and useful social interactions, pushing them to new boundaries in the adolescence and adulthood.

The product is an AI software in the form of an app where caregivers of mental-disabled children can upload images of relatives and the software will analyze and create learning modules for the child. These children can learn easier from known faces.
