About this project

An adjustable finger prosthesis that utilizes the existing finger joints to define the motion of the missing parts. Then the 4 prostheses will be connected together flexibly to imitate the motion and support a normal hand provides.

The challenge

Rashed needs an affordable finger prosthesis to accomplish basic daily activities like picking up objects and typing to allow him to be more independent.

Furthermore, it will aid him in obtaining an office job and earning a living.

Who it helps

Rashed Saleem is 24 years old who lives in Haifa. 5 years ago, he underwent a work accident that led to partially cutting 4 fingers on his left hand. Which prevents him from performing many daily tasks that require both hands.

How it works

Rashed needs an affordable finger prosthesis to accomplish basic daily activities like picking up objects and typing to allow him to be more independent. Furthermore, it will aid him in obtaining an office job and earning a living.

The adjustable finger prosthesis is 100% mechanical since it utilizes existing finger joints, it is affordable and enhances independence and employability for Rashed by enabling basic tasks and mimicking natural hand motion effectively.
