Large Grip Keyholder with Flashlight

Large Grip Keyholder with Flashlight - open-source assistive technology product by the TOM New York City community

About this project

This 3D-printed large key grip features an embedded flashlight--designed to attach to any key and enable people who lack fine motor skills open doors independently.

The challenge

Household keys are small, slippery, and difficult to hold and control for people with limited finger mobility or range. Users of the previous version reported also having trouble with visibility and that resulted in this updated version with a flashlight.

Who it helps

This key holder is designed for people who lack fine motor skills and have trouble grasping, seeing and using ordinary keys.

How it works

An updated version of our Large Grip Keyholder , now with more visibility!

The Key Holder aims to make holding and using keys easier by attaching to the key and expanding the graspable surface. The flashlight aids in seeing the action and keyhole better.
