MobiliMate

MobiliMate - open-source assistive technology working model by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

In ableist societies mobility and social participation depend on access to reliable information. Access to information is foundational and essential for making informed decisions and empowering disabled communities to engage connect, and thrive in society.

Who it helps

All individuals with mobility impairments, regardless of age, who wish to experience a normal, independent life and fully participate in society and recreational activities without barriers.

How it works

Allows users to discover and evaluate the accessibility of destinations by checking images of parking curb cuts restrooms, and entrances. Through visual maps and user reviews, they confidently assess a place before visiting and share their experiences.

This is an accessible digital platform designed to adapt seamlessly to both desktop and mobile devices. It ensures information is easily accessible to target users while fostering barrier-free mobility for an inclusive experience.

Tools needed
