Neutral Hand Cuff Stylus

Neutral Hand Cuff Stylus - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Shepherd Center community

The challenge

The Shepherd Center strives to increase patients' independence when

performing activities of daily living such as using a stylus pen.

Who it helps

Intended users of this Neutral Hand Cuff Stylus are individuals with limited hand dexterity. This could lead to difficulty holding a stylus pen for electronics.

How it works

The Neutral Hand Cuff Stylus limits the need for fine motor control and when holding a stylus pen, often during cellphone or computer keyboard typing, by adding a hand cuff attachment.

The Neutral Hand Cuff Stylus is a handheld, 3D printed device that uses hand cuff and cylindrical slot a to allow the user to easily hold and move an

inserted stylus with a neutral hand position without fine motor movement.
