Parametric Upright iPad Enclosure

Parametric Upright iPad Enclosure - open-source assistive technology prototype by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

This project is needed for stability and safety in the class. Many students like to throw things that are in front of them including iPads. Not only does this break the iPads, but it can also injure a student.

Who it helps

We recently started working with Scott from the AIU for the past month. He developed a few sketches and ended up crafting his ideas into a helpful aid for iPads. We are currently working with him to upload his project into the TOM website.

How it works

The iPad Enclosure has slits in the bottom that allows a ratchet strap to pass through and wrap around the table. This firmly keeps the iPad steady and prevents the iPad from being thrown or easily removed.

The Solution being offered creates a fixed iPad holder that allows the students to have a safer more stable learning condition.
