About this project

A U-shape hand held device with a toothbrush attachment that provides: Stability of grip to improve adeptness whilst holding a toothbrush , enables rotation to prevent the need for swapping hands whilst brushing

Additional aids:

Wall mounted toothpaste dispenser (commercial available product purchased), Wall attachments for toothbrush holder and toothpaste dispenser

The challenge

Joanne has trouble using her hands due to her flexed wrists and poor skin quality, making simple tasks incredibly difficult. Joanne would like to create a system that allows her to brush her teeth independently and maintain good oral hygiene.

Who it helps

Joanne, a 47-year-old studying her Cert IV in Disability, has a neurological degenerative muscular disease which limits her mobility in her arms and legs
