Adaptive Archery Device

Adaptive Archery Device - open-source assistive technology prototype by the BGU community

About this project

Our solution offers an adaptive device that holds the bow, allowing the user to draw and shoot the bow independently.

The challenge

This project is needed because people with muscular dystrophy can’t hold a bow on their own and often needs someone to assist them.

The device allows them to practice archery independently, giving them a sense of freedom and achievement.

Who it helps

Individuals with muscular dystrophy in wheelchairs who want to practice archery.

How it works

This project is needed because people with muscular dystrophy can’t hold a bow on their own and often needs someone to assist them. The device allows them to practice archery independently, giving them a sense of freedom and achievement.

It removes the need to lift the bow's weight while providing the freedom of movement needed for archery. that way individuals with muscular dystrophy are able to shoot without any help from others.
