
The team created an enabling device, operated either by eye-tracking or movement of the neck, which allows people to regain some use of their hands. A series of connected rings and wires fit over their hands and they can use it to move their fingers.
ALS and MS sufferers, as well as others who have lost control of their limbs, need a way to be able to perform basic functions such as grasping and holding.
The need knowers are ALS and MS sufferers.
