Blind Bond

Blind Bond - open-source assistive technology working model by the Kibbutzim College community

The challenge

This project meets a very specific need. There is no existing solution that fits our Need-Knower’s unique combination of challenges and limitations.

Who it helps

his solution is designed for individuals who use both a prosthetic arm and a white cane for navigation. It provides a practical and safe way to connect the cane to the prosthesis, allowing users to move more freely and confidently in their daily lives.

How it works

The adapter connects the cane directly to the prosthesis, so the user doesn’t need to hold it. This gives more freedom, reduces the risk of injury when hitting obstacles, and makes walking easier and safer.

This solution is designed for individuals who use both a prosthetic arm and a white cane. It includes a three-part magnetic connector: a cane piece that slides into a “home” base attached to the prosthesis, allowing for safe, hands-free walking.
