A Writing Board For Deaf-Blind People

A Writing Board For Deaf-Blind People - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Holon community

The challenge

Deafblind individuals face major communication challenges. Speech, when possible, is often unclear, limiting interaction. Loss of sight and hearing also disrupts spatial orientation, making writing and other traditional communication methods difficult.

Who it helps

DeafBlind Community

How it works

Our solution provides a communication board to enable independent writing and improve interaction, fostering autonomy and connection.

The board enables Yael to locate where she is writing, move between lines independently, and communicate more freely with others, helping her gain greater independence.
