Camera Adaptation

Camera Adaptation - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Vanderbilt University community

The challenge

Some photography students are unable to participate in photography sessions because they do not have the fine motor skills to click the camera button and take photos. A modified camera button allows these students to have more autonomy while taking photos.

Who it helps

Jen is part of AbleVoices, a charity that brings photography to teens and adults with disabilities as a means of self-expression.

How it works

It will allow any users who have lost fine motor skills to be able to take pictures independently.

A camera attachment that provides a button that can be hit without the need for hand movement.

Tools needed

PC or MAC I7 +

Fusion 360

Prusa slicer

Allen keys set

Hot air blower
