Deodorant Holder

Deodorant Holder - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Shepherd Center community

The challenge

The Shepherd Center strives to increase patients' independence

when performing activities of daily living such as applying deodorant.

Who it helps

Intended users of this Deodorant Holder are individuals with limited

hand dexterity or grip strength. This could lead to difficulty applying

deodorant.

How it works

The Deodorant Holder is a handheld, 3D-printed device that uses a

clamp and a slot for custom splinting material, which is molded to the

user's hand. This supports the user in easily applying deodorant.

The Deodorant Holder limits the need for fine hand control or grip

strength when applying deodorant by using a custom handle

extension rather than holding the thin, cylindrical product. NOTE: two sets of files are uploaded (smaller or larger deodorant).
