Gracie Foldable Tray

Gracie Foldable Tray - open-source assistive technology working model by the Georgia Tech community

The challenge

This project is needed because there should always be options for those with limited mobility. There are low-tech designs in the industry that could cater to those like Gracie, but these designs are usually uncomfortable and require someone else to help.

Who it helps

Anyone who desires a foldable tray that can be mounted on their wheelchair.

How it works

This solution meets all of Gracie’s needs: it’s foldable, lightweight, and self-operable; it has smooth, rounded edges for comfort and a snug fit shaped to fit her body.

Our solution is a foldable tray table that can be mounted to Gracie’s wheelchair. It will include a hook for her wrist to unfold and fold the tray whenever she wants to use it.
