Independence and accessibility of reading solutions - open-source assistive technology challenge by the Restart community

The challenge

Ilham is a very independent person who represents his country in many forums and has even received an honorary award for his involvement in the promotion of sports in Azerbaijan. Among many activities, Ilham struggles with everyday matters such as identifying currency denominations, reading, and more. There are solutions available in the market for some of these problems, but they are not available and accessible in Azerbaijan. Ilham is seeking a team that will help him bridge the gap between existing technologies and their unavailability in the Azeri market and language.

Who it helps

Ilham Zakayev was wounded in the head by a sniper and lost his eyesight. Ilham is a Paralympic medalist and a European and world champion in judo.
