One Handed Ponytail

One Handed Ponytail - open-source assistive technology working model by the BGU community

The challenge

This project is needed to empower individuals with limited hand mobility to independently create a tight, high ponytail — essential for physical activities like playing soccer, where secure hair styling is both practical and empowering.

Who it helps

The potential users of this solution include a wide range of individuals who face difficulty using both hands for hair grooming.

How it works

This solution helps individuals with one functional hand style their hair into a tight ponytail by simplifying the process using a buff, rubber band, and pins without requiring two-handed coordination.

We offer a removable buff that gathers the hair, creating a stable base for securing a ponytail with a rubber band and pins, allowing users to style their hair independently with one hand.
