Papa les bras !

Papa les bras ! - open-source assistive technology working model by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

Without control of their abdominal muscles, lifting something from the ground becomes a challenge. Indeed, using one hand to maintain stability is essential to avoid falling. Thus, a mechanism is needed to free the hands during lifting.

Who it helps

Our solution is aiming for parents in wheelchairs who do not have control of their abdominal muscles.

How it works

This solution will enable the parent to take care of the baby on the ground and during the whole lifting, if anything happens, the parent must be able to reach the baby and address the situation alone.

A rotating jib crane to transfer a baby from the floor to the knee or lap the system will be all mechanical in order to reduce the price of the final solution.
