The Macy Foot

The Macy Foot - open-source assistive technology working model by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

Access to prosthetic component like foot can be a major challenge in Africa, due to heavy dependence on importation of prosthetic sach foot. This makes access to prosthetics limited and very expensive to patients, making them dependent on used prosthetics.

Who it helps

Chimamanda is a 4 year old girl with a Congenital proximal femoral focal deficiency, she needs an orthoprosthesis to be able to move around, go to school and have an active daily live activities.

How it works

With our solution to the prosthetic sach foot collection, we have designed a foot that can easily be printed anywhere in the world, distrubuted among patients that needs it, its affordable as its built using FDM technology, recyclable after years of usage.

3D printable prosthetic sach foot, its an FDM printable foot, A dynamic foot pattern to stimulate the normal gait through a lattice structure specially designed at the Metatarsal region to stimulate the metatarsal joint movement.
