The Re-Play device fits around the arm and has a connection piece at the end farthest from the elbow that connects to a guitar pic. This enables the Need Knower to play the guitar while practicing arm movements which also helps with the rehabilitation process.
This solution was designed with the assistance of Tzvika Shahar of Haifa 3D.
Our Need knower is suffering from a pain disorder caused due to trauma. His left hand is not functional from the wrist to fingers. The hand is very, very sensitive and any touch or pressure on the hand causes unbearable pain. Our need knower wants to return to playing the guitar as he used to play before the trauma. Since his hand is not functional, the guitar Strumming will be performed from the arm
3D printing solution which enables people to play the guitar on there own without experiencing pain.
People diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) which is a broad term describing excessive and prolonged pain and inflammation that follows an injury to an arm or leg usually often find themselves avoiding certain activities such as writing, typing, playing instruments, etc. These actions make their symptoms worse. The pain associated with these movements is intense, so they feel like they're about to explode. But, the more those people use the affected limb, the more bearable the pain. With the thought that playing allows movement therapy for the hand as well as a pleasant creation. The re-play was created for people with a hand injury below the elbow and allows you to play the guitar from the forearm. The re-play was first created for Israel, a strong and hopeful husband and father who suffers from chronic hand pain due to a car accident. He has always loved music and was an avid guitar player prior to his accident.
There are almost no devices that help CRPS patients play the guitar, as the device has to be light and adapted to areas where the patient does not
feel pain so that he can wear the device and play with it
The Re-Play device fits around the arm and has a connection piece at the end farthest from the elbow that connects to a guitar pic. Light and easy to wear and can help with the patients rehabilitation.
