With the mobility stick, there is typically an attachment on the end of the cane that makes contact with the ground in front of the user. The point of our project is to make Joshua a longer lasting, versatile, and cost efficient cane attachment.
Joshua has a visual impairment, and is aided by a mobility stick. This white cane helps him detect changes in ground texture and level due to his poor depth perception and blurry vision.
Our solution addresses the challenge in many ways. This solution for the cane attachment supports many sustainable practices, will provide empowerment for communities, and will encourage others to help raise awareness.
We are offering a solution for many individuals like Joshua that have to constantly spend lots of money on cane attachments. We want Joshua to have an everlasting attachment that will be able to traverse through all sorts of terrain.
