School Desk Tablet Adapter

School Desk Tablet Adapter - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Vanderbilt University community

The challenge

Liam's tablet, which he uses to input what he wants to speak, is very expensive and his parents want to make sure that it does not get knocked over when he plays and breaks. This has happened with another tablet before.

Who it helps

People who need to ensure that a tablet will not get knocked off a desk, specifically a school desk.

How it works

It will make sure that the tablet cannot get knocked over or fall off of his desk, preventing damage to the tablet.

We will be making something that grips onto his tablet and connects it to his desk in a stable way so that if the tablet gets hit, it does not move.

Tools needed

Fusion 360

FDM Printer
