Adapted Stroller

Adapted Stroller - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Vanderbilt University community

The challenge

Liam has hypotonia, so he gets tired quickly when walking and needs somewhere to sit. Wheelchair/stroller must be collapsible so it can be easily transportable.

Who it helps

Kids who need strollers/something to be taken around in, but have outgrown commercial strollers.

How it works

The collapsible joints of the stroller will not be blocked so it can collapse as intended. In addition, the wheels of the wheelchair will be replaced with more durable and elastic wheels.

Building upon the previous strollers made for Liam, we will be making sure that the stroller is collapsible so it can be easily transported as well as making sure that the stroller can go over rough terrain. Liam's feet will also be kept up.
