VALENTINA CHAIR

VALENTINA CHAIR - open-source assistive technology prototype by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

This adaptation is necessary to ensure that individuals with hyperactivity are not limited in their education, especially young children with high energy levels.

Who it helps

This ergonomic adaptation is designed for individuals with tendencies toward hyperactivity. It provides sensory stimuli to help maintain their attention during classes

How it works

This solution is highly relevant to Valentina’s specific needs, as it is designed with her sensory profile and behavioral patterns in mind. Traditional classroom seating does not accommodate her constant need for movement.

We aimed to develop an ergonomic chair that allows Valentina to stay in motion through a bouncing seat, while also keeping her safe and gently restricted—providing just enough space for her to move comfortably.

Tools needed
