Versatile Workout Adapter - open-source assistive technology working model by the 2021 TOM Global Innovation Challenge (GIC) community

About this project

This project is an arm attachment, connected with straps that can hold weights or tubes used in standard fitness equipment. The straps close with velcro and can fit different size weights/tubes.

By enabling the user to use standard fitness equipment with both arms equally, balancing left-right muscle development. Versatile and easy to use. A solution that is affordable and easy to replicate with accessible means.

Who it helps

Itzik is a math teacher from Israel. He enjoys exercising and being active. Itzik has been a left hand amputee since childhood, and does not use prosthetics for aesthetic or functional needs.

To enable Itzik to participate in additional types of sports, thus diversifying mental and physical skills, and increasing health benefits, interest and enjoyment.
