Walker Storage

Walker Storage - open-source assistive technology prototype by the University of Virginia community

The challenge

Lela originally had a bag attached to the walker for storage, however it was unstable when she moved. She wanted a more secure place to store everyday objects, and wanted one that could be placed on the inside of the walker for safety reasons.

Who it helps

Lela is an 89 year women who suffered several pelvic fractures after a fall and relies on a walker for everyday mobility.

How it works

This will allow Lela to bring necessary items with her, whether it is needed around the house or going out in public. She will feel more secure having her belongings close to her and having a sturdy structure that does not restrict mobility.

A device that can attach to the walker, facing the inside, and store common items.

Tools needed

PC or MAC I7 +

FDM Printer
