Natik - Wheelchair Side Storage

Natik - Wheelchair Side Storage - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Abraham Accords Open Innovation Challenge community

About this project

“Natik” is a bag that is easily mounted on the wheels of a wheelchair using a quick release pin. It stays upright even while the wheels are turning and is easily accessible from the chair.

The challenge

Nati lacks storage space while moving around with his chair and traditional back mounted bags are not comfortable for him, and also shifts the balance point of the chair backward and can cause Nati to flip. He is looking for side storage that he can easily access while in the chair.

Who it helps

Nati was an athlete and a competitive cyclist for many years. He also uses a wheelchair. Nati is a very independent person and manages the field of cycling at Etgarim.

How it works

“Natik” is a bag that was designed to solve all those issues, it is mounted on the wheel’s quick release pin and supplies quick attachment and access.

"Natik" can be mounted and disassembled quickly on the wheelchair and thus does not make it difficult to move in narrow places and the time of folding and assembling the chair quickly during storage in Nati's vehicle.
