Adapted Bowling

Adapted Bowling - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Duquesne University community

The challenge

This project allows children to participate in gym class more fully and provides them with an enjoyable activity that they otherwise would not be able to engage in.

Who it helps

Children with motor deficits that prevent them from participating in bowling during gym class. This could include overall weakness or lack of coordination and dexterity.

How it works

This addresses the challenge of a child having weakness and reduced fine and gross motor capabilities.

The solution we are offering is making a light-weight stand for adapted bowling. This stand would include a button that will go off and push the ball when a child presses a switch.

Tools needed

Protective glasses

PC or MAC I7 +
