
The team then used a raspberry pi with a camera sensor that when held close to a bill, uses image recognition to identify bills accurately. The solution currently costs 60 euros and the team hopes to continue development to reduce the size and price of the new product.
The first idea was to use a mobile device, but It’s hard for them to start the app and aim at the bills. The second idea was a raspberry pi device that uses a camera sensor that you can hold close to the bill (and not rely on the numbers), using image recognition.
