Flexible Drinking Straw
About this project
A 3D-printed "tube" that holds an off-the-shelf silicone straw in a certain position, so it can easily be used for drinking by a handicapped user.
The challenge
The Flexible Drinking Straw was developed during the 2022 Global Innovation Challenge. It was designed for people at the ICP Munich who are handicapped and aren't able to drink from an ordinary glass without assistance.
It was designed with Sabine Weinberger for anyone who struggles to drink from standard glasses independently.
Flexible Drinking Straw is one of the participating projects of the 2021 Global Innovation Challenge.

Who it helps

How it works
Who
People at the ICP Munich who are handicapped and aren't able to drink from an ordinary glass without assistance.
Why
Although such individuals were able to drink on their own with an ordinary plastic drinking straw, those were banned in the EU this year.
