The Shepherd Center strives to increase patients' independence when
performing activities of daily living such as using a Pant Hook device
during self-catheterization.
Intended users of this Modified Pant Hook are individuals with limited hand
dexterity. This could lead to difficulty using a traditional Pant Hook device.
The Modified Pant Hook limits the need for fine motor movement to
manipulate the small hook on a traditional Pant Hook by adding a larger
handle on the opposing side.
The Modified Pant Hook is a handheld, 3D printed device that uses a
hook on one side, and a large handle on the other. This allows the user
to easily manipulate the hook onto their pants, moving them out of the
way during self-catheterization.
