SenseSpace

SenseSpace - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Singapore community

The challenge

Joshua is unable to appreciate visual experiences during travel

Who it helps

Joshua gradually became blind during his teenage years. Due to this he had to develop new skills and methods to get around both with a companion and independently. He is looking for solutions that may help him experience his surroundings more.

How it works

This will help Joshua translate the visual experience that he can no longer enjoy into physical experiences that reflects the scenery, helping him form memories based on "visual" characteristics.

We are creating a sensation creating forearm sleeve that utilizes vibrotaactile technology to provide the user with feedback from the sceneries that they are observing.
