The Mini-kicker

The Mini-kicker - open-source assistive technology prototype by the BGU community

About this project

A mechanism solution that will do a kicking motion by pressing a large button with a hand.

The challenge

Eitan loves to run, play with his friends and be independent while using the "mini-walker". The walker has a metal frame and the frame prevents Eitan from kicking a ball while playing with his friends.

Our project will give him the opportunity to do so.

Who it helps

Eitan is a 7 years old boy. He has Quadriplegic Cerebral palsy. He's spending most of his day in his wheelchair (pushed by a care-giver).

How it works

Eitan loves to run, play with his friends and be independent while using the "mini-walker". The walker has a metal frame and the frame prevents Eitan from kicking a ball while playing with his friends. Our project will give him the opportunity to do so.

Our solution will allow Eitan and other children who are using the "mini walker" to play ball games with their friends.

We think of a mechanism solution that will do a kicking motion by pressing a large button with a hand.
