Extandable Fork + Spoon

Extandable Fork + Spoon - open-source assistive technology prototype by the BGU community

About this project

The solution is a combination of 2 products. A placement that prevent slipping while eating attached to a small ball that expand the range of movements. And an extendable fork or a special angled spoon

The challenge

Today, after a long amazing physical therapy Moshe can move his arms. But, not enough for eat by himself yet. Our challenge is to help Moshe eat on his own, on a daily basis and especially on friday night dinner with his family.

Who it helps

Moshe is a family loving person and a religious man, who lives in Beer Sheva. He suffers from a severe muscles tension due to work accident which limits his movement range.

How it works

Our solution will help Moshe to eat on his own while using all of his movement range by simple products that anyone can buy online or 3D print and basic tools, in a low cost. The solution, as Moshe asked, uses his own movements, not replacing them.

Tools needed

Measurement tool

Hot glue gun

FDM Printer
