BTE Mouse

BTE Mouse - open-source assistive technology prototype by the Florida International University community

The challenge

Hayden loves playing video games and this would allow him to play computer games. The device functions as an alternative to a mouse with a left click button.

Who it helps

Hayden presents with a congenital upper extremity limb difference (right arm)

How it works

This device takes inspiration from a regular joystick and a mouse. By pushing the topper, the action acts like a left click on a mouse. The topper is free to move in all directions and it is modular so different attachments can be used in the future.

Ability for below the elbow amputees, people with upper limb contractions, and people with congenital limb differences play computer video games.
