Senso - Accessible board game

Senso - Accessible board game - open-source assistive technology working model by the TOM International Community community

The challenge

Regular board games use colors and reading. This means visually impaired and blind kids either need someone's help to play, or they are left out completely. We need a fun game where visually impaired, blind, and sighted friends can play together as equals

Who it helps

Visually impaired and blind kids, their sighted friends, families, and schools want everyone to play together naturally.

How it works

By using a touch-roulette and sensory missions, players don't need to see to win. This allows visually impaired and blind children to play completely on their own and enjoy a truly shared game with their sighted friends under the exact same rules.

"Senso" is a fun, multi-sensory board game made for everyone. It features a board you can feel, playing pieces that lock into place so they don't fall, a touch-roulette instead of dice, and cool missions using hearing and touch.

Tools needed
